Personality:
WangJi is loyal. He continued to kneel at his mother’s house, waiting for her to let him in even after being told she was gone. Even older, he still goes to her house. Initially, his loyalties lay with his sect, but now also with WuXian, so much so that WangJi willingly fought his own sect because he knew that WuXian was not the person they said he was, unconcerned about losing face for associating with the Yiling Patriarch. Once WuXian is reborn, WangJi continues to associate with him, even when most people believe he is the disgraced Mo XuanYu and sides with him over his brother about who is right - WuXian or Jin Guangyao.
WangJi has a strict code of honor. While Gusu Lan rules originally guided everything, he has learned to consider things for himself and break rules when his code of honor tells him. He stood in the way of Wen Chao when the other was trying sacrifice Mianmian to bring out the Tortoise of Slaughter, despite threats to himself and his sect. Most notably, he defended WuXian, attacking his own sect, leading to being whipped 33 times. His code of honor leads him to do potentially troublesome things if he was lower status, including destroying Jin Ling's spirit-binding nets with Bichen because they were cheating.
WangJi is well-disciplined (most of the time). He grew up with strict rules and he has always followed them. As a teenager, he was trusted with discipline within his own sect. As an adult, he trusted by his sect even after what he did and often goes out with the juniors helping to keep them safe.
WangJi is stubborn. When he has his mind set on something, he will do it. When Qishan Wen came to the Cloud Recesses, he refused to allow the library to be burned, causing Wen Xu to break his leg in retaliation. He also refused to acknowledge his broken leg while a hostage of Qishan Wen. When WuXian dies in Burial Mounds, WangJi first forces himself to go despite being in pain. This leads to him finding A-Yuan, who he insists upon adopting.
Despite his prim and proper air, WangJi can have a temper. When WuXian teased him, saying WangJi liked Mianmian, WangJi stopped him... by biting him on the arm. When WangJi stole WuXian's first kiss while the other was blindfolded, he became angry with himself that he punched a tree and damaged it. In his adult years, this is harder to see, but while drunk, he became angry that WuXian had played "WangXian" for Wen Ning and repeatedly slapped Wen Ning before telling WuXian not to play for him.
Even grown up, WangJi is emotionally compromised. To many, he is unreadable, frequently mistaking his "expressions" and his silence for things other than what he is thinking. WuXian, for example, frequently assumed that WangJi was mad at him. Many, in youth and as an adult, are intimidated by him as he does nothing.
Powers/Abilities:
Cultivation: Based the principles of using one's spiritual energy to achieve immortality, the practice of using their spiritual energy also allows other things, including being able to use that energy to fly on their swords; defeat monsters, ghosts (generally a dead human so zombies), and other creatures; and reduced aging.
Music: Gusu Lan specializes in music for their cultivation. As such, WangJi can use his spiritual energy and his guqin combined to attack enemies. He also is skilled at "Inquiry" which involves using qin language to speak to a spirit and interpret the response they play on the guqin to answer questions. WangJi is so skilled at Inquiry that a spirit that answers him is not capable of lying.
Sword: WangJi is a skilled swordsman, one of the best of his time. Some believe he was only matched by Wei WuXian in their youth.
Physical Strength: While it is not a skill that he would display often because it would be seen as boorish for someone of his rank, he is quite strong. Gusu Lan uses handstands for both training and punishment, involving disciples balance on one arm and write passages upside down. WangJi is strong enough to break a bathtub with just his normal strength.
Intelligence: WangJi is quite smart. He spent most of his teenage years studying by himself.
He is also skilled in the arts that were associated with a gentleman of class in China at that time, including archery and horsemanship.
Suitability:
Currently from his canon point, WangJi has really not begun to become intimate with someone so there would be plenty of opportunities for him to develop this. He has, however, been simmering beneath the surface for probably close to two decades, repressed by his own sect's rules. As such, he is pretty much baseline horny for WuXian most of the time. Once he learns what he likes, he is very certain of what he wants and is not afraid to make sure WuXian knows this.
It would also be a good chance for him to develop more and learn to be intimate and more open with others besides just WuXian.
Kinks:
Rough sex- WangJi is pretty horny and he might be gentle with his partner sometimes, he prefers to just go at it and have rough sex. Call it a way of calming his needs or a way of being in control of his partner for a short time.
Bondage- WangJi started this kink early, tying WuXian's hands together with his forehead ribbon while drunk and showing off that he had tied him up to the juniors (WuXian was decent, just had his hands tied up). This is something he would surely continue in a more intimate setting.
